O Fine Japanese Cuisine was established in 2009 in Laguna Beach, California, with the tremendous support from locals and visitors from all over the world. We opened our 2nd location in 2011 in Irvine, California.
Our chefs have decades of fine Japanese cuisine experiences using authentic Japanese cooking technique combined with their own unique style and creativity to deliver the most succulent dishes.
We are committed to providing our guests the highest quality, most fresh, and tastiest foods every day. Most of our fresh fish are delivered to us daily directly from Tsukiji Market in Tokyo Japan, which is the largest seafood and fish market in the world. Each week, we introduce exotic new and in-season fish to satisfy sushi lovers such as Sea Bream (Takanohadai), Goat Fish (Himeji), FILE FISH, (USUBA-Hagi, Hakomono), Rock Fish (Kasago).
We, not only, carry the freshest fish, but the highest grade fish available from our supplier. Our Best Grade, melt-in-the-mouth, Blue Fin Toro (Fatty Tuna) is from Spain. We use the “Kamashita”, meat around collar bone, which is the best cut. Another exceptional quality is the Wagyu Beef from Miyazaki, Japan. This is the “real” Wagyu Beef at the highest Grade 5, which delivers exceptional taste –serving in Sushi or Sashimi. Official Certificate of Authenticity from our supplier in Japan tracks origin, lineage, and other important identifying information of the cattle.
Besides using our freshest fish to create traditional sushi and sashimi, our chefs have created many fusion sashimi dishes. Our Signature Sashimi Sampler is a good way to start your adventure. It introduces 6 of the most popular fusion sashimi plates including Halibut with truffle oil and truffle paste, Scallop with Peach, Yellowtail with Jalapeno, Tuna with Crispy Onion, White Fish with Spicy Garlic, and Salmon with Special House Ponzu.
Exploring beyond sushi and sashimi, there is something for everyone! Try our grilled Prime Boneless Short Rib served in a hot skillet with our house special sauce. The short rib is so tender and juicy that it can be paired with one of our super premium sake—Kubota. Another guest’s favorite is our Miso Chilean Seabass, which is the wild caught Chilean seabass. Baked to perfection, our Chilean Seabass is marinated with miso and house sauce for at least a day. Another favorite dish is our best rated Seafood Nabe Udon soup that consists of special house based soup with scottish salmon cheek meat, sweet shrimp, scallop, mussel and many other ingredients.
